Malone Mitchell 3rd
Chairman


Malone Mitchell founded Longfellow Energy, LP, a privately owned oil and natural gas exploration and production company, in 2006; he also founded Riata Energy (now SandRidge Energy) in 1984. He served as Operations Manager at Riata Energy until 1989 when he assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, which he held until June, 2006. During this period, Riata grew from $500 to become one of the largest privately held energy companies and the largest privately held land driller in the US and had significant midstream and tertiary oil production operations. Until December 2006, Mr. Mitchell held the position of President and COO, when he decided to resign from daily management in the company. Prior to his involvement with Riata Energy, he worked in the oil field services industry and was employed in his family's ranching and aviation businesses.
Mr. Mitchell graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Mr. Mitchell is also actively involved in the venture capital and agriculture businesses.

 
Michael Winn
Director


Michael Winn is currently President of Terrasearch Inc. a consulting company that provides analysis on mining and energy companies. Mr. Winn has worked in the oil and gas industry since 1983 and the mining industry since 1992, and is also a director of several companies that are involved in mineral exploration in Canada, Latin America, Europe and Africa. Prior to forming his own company in 1997, Mr. Winn spent four years as an analyst for a Southern California based brokerage firm where he was responsible for the evaluation of emerging oil and gas and mining companies. Mr. Winn has completed graduate course work in accounting and finance and received a B.S. in geology from the University of Southern California.

 
Scott C. Larsen
President and Chief Executive Officer


Scott Larsen was appointed President in June 2004. He previously served as Vice President - Operations of the Company since July 2002 and has been involved in the Company's Nigerian activities from their inception in 1994. He serves as President of all of the Company's subsidiaries. An attorney by training with over 25 years experience in the oil and gas area, Mr. Larsen previously served as general counsel for a Texas independent exploration company, spent several years as a partner in a business litigation law firm and served as general counsel for a venture capital and management company. For the past 13 years, he has served the Company in various capacities primarily involving international operations and management.

 
Dr. David Campbell
International Exploration Manager


David Campbell received a B.Sc, degree in geology from St. Andrews University and completed a Ph.D. in geology at Glasgow University in 1978. He joined Esso Expro UK as a seismic interpreter and later spent the majority of his professional career with ARCO both in the UK and overseas. He was North Sea Chief Geophysicist for ARCO British Limited, Geophysical Research Manager for ARCO Exploration and Production Technology Company and Middle East Exploration Manager for ARCO International Oil and Gas Company. Following the takeover of ARCO by BP in 2000, Dr. Campbell became an officer and/or director in a number of energy-related companies: Balli Resources Limited, Balli Naft CFZ and VND Energy Limited. He joined TransAtlantic in 2005.

 
Dr. Weldon Beauchamp
New Ventures


Weldon Beauchamp received a M.S. degree in geology from Oklahoma State University and a Ph.D. in geophysics from Cornell University. He worked for Sun Exploration and Production Company in the mid-continent region, prior to joining Sun International Exploration and Production Company, where he served as a new venture exploration geologist in the North Sea, Africa, and the Middle East regions. He also worked for ARCO in New Ventures - Middle East. Since leaving ARCO, he has also worked as a consultant for Triton Energy in Equatorial Guinea and for Hunt Oil offshore Togo.

 
Dr. David W. McDonald
Geoscientist


David W. McDonald received his M.A. degree in sedimentary geology from the University of Lousiana at Monroe and his Ph.D. in structural geology from the University of Texas at Dallas. He spent the majority of his professional career at Mobil, Hunt Oil, Magnum Hunter and Petrotel. Dr. McDonald has extensive experience in West Africa, the Gulf of Mexico, offshore India and the U.K. North Sea.

 
Hilda Kouvelis
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer


Hilda Kouvelis was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Company in January 2007 and Vice President in May 2007. She joined TransAtlantic as its Controller in 2005. Ms. Kouvelis has more than 20 years of industry experience, including 18 years with FINA, Inc., where she held various positions in Finance and Accounting including Controller and Treasurer. Ms Kouvelis served as Financial Controller for international operations at the headquarters of PetroFina, S.A. in Brussels, Belgium from 1998 through 2000. She holds an MBA in Corporate Finance and Investment Analysis from the University of Dallas and a BBA in Accounting from Angelo State University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Texas Society of CPAs.

 
Jeffrey S. Mecom
Vice President and Secretary


Jeffrey S. Mecom has served as our Corporate Secretary since May 2006 and as a Vice President since May 2007. Before joining the Company, Mr. Mecom served as Vice President, Legal and Corporate Secretary with Aleris International, Inc., a NYSE-listed international metals recycling and processing company, where he was employed from 1995 until 2005. Prior to that he served as in-house counsel to a Dallas-based independent energy company and lectured at the Estonian Business School in Tallinn, Estonia. He received his B.A. degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
